Total Niceness : Bass Chronicles # 5 - Saturday 1st July with Woody / Dtism & Boy Wonder from Armitage Skanks

This month at Total Niceness // Bass Chronicles we are proud to welcome 2 of the Armitage Skanks crew down for the first time at The White Lion - Streatham's finest & only provider of top quality beats to shake your stuff to on a Saturday night !

Kicking off the night we welcome back a Total Niceness regular - South London's dj Woody. Woody was a familiar face over at our nights at Inigo and he's gonna be doing the business for us on Saturday busting out some upfront hip-hop to get the party started.

Next up we will be giving a warm welcome to the undisputed King of Breaks beards, Peckham's very own hairy cornflake & Armitage Skanks' no.1 Wookie enthusiast - Dtism ! If you have been down to an Armitage Skanks night over in East London then you'll know what to expect from this man - a family sized bucket full of funk filled breaks - very tasty stuff guaranteed !

Our 3rd guest for the evening will be none other than Armitage Skanks' resident bass-avenger Boy Wonder. Me and Boy Wonder will be delivering an eclectic peak time set for you to get your Saturday night skank-on, plenty of scratching action and 1.5hrs of classic dancefloor tunes are coming your way.

& Finally, to finish proceedings me and the main man Delsa will be mixing and scratching a 2 hour mash up session of breaks, old skool, hip hop and whatever floorfillers we can cram in before 4am - the usual top drawer beats from us two !

This is going to be the perfect place for your post World Cup quarter-final celebrations next week so make it a date and don't be late !!!

APPLY THE Niceness - 9th May @ Inigo, 642 Wandsworth Rd SW8

This month Total Niceness - undisputed champions of the Tuesday night mash up - welcome Luton's finest in Breakbeat & Old Skool : APPLY THE BREAKS !!

Tonight marks the end of the fortnightly pace we have set for the past 2 years down at Inigo. We will be switching to a less frequent service from now on as we now have our fingers firmly plugged into a couple of other pies : Lovage @ The White House in Clapham (Last Thursday of each month) and Total Niceness : Bass Chronicles @ The White Lion in Streatham (First Saturday of every month). Keep watching this space for our next installment of the Tuesday evening carnage !

Anyway - back to business. To kick start the party this time round we have 3 sets of duos doing the damage for us :

First up we've got 2 of the 3 Das Miesters boys in the place for us. Gillotron and Paul Torch have been stalwarts of the Total Niceness line up down at Inigo over the past 2 years. These guys know how to work the crowd with their funk and electro tinged breaks and will not disappoint - you can catch me (iDLE) laying down some scratch support for my old pals as well.

Next up we welcome back 2 from 5 of the Apply the Breaks crew. Rob Focus and Daddy Fingaz will be in the place to rock the floor with their bass driven breaks and scratch up set. These guys dancefloor credentials speak for themselves they're Raindance regulars as well as providing Luton with the finest in Breaks and Old Skool parties for several years now with stunning line ups and top production - they will most definitely be bringing the noise for us to Inigo tonight ! Check out www. applythebreaks.co.uk to find out more about these guys.

Closing the evening tonight you have Delsa and myself iDLE back to back. You can expect a full on bass assault from us guys : bassline breaks, electro, probably some sick low frequency dub step and a smattering of Old Skool hardcore and Hip Hop - plus a ton of scratching from me and Daddy Fingaz.

Hope to see lots of you beautiful people down there tonight !

2100 - 2300 : Das Miesters // Gillotron & Paul Torch
2300 - 0030 : Apply The Breaks // Daddy Fingaz & Rob Focus
0030 - 0200 : Delsa & iDLE

Bass Chronicles @ The White Lion 6th May

Yes, Its that time of the month again, pay days should be blossuming as we speak along with the flowers of spring. As we start another month it means its time for another installment of Total Niceness Bass Chronicles and this time we are at number 3 in the series another splendid mash up of all things bass related from Breaks, to Electro via some raw House with a large slice of dubstep if i've got anything to do with it, i might even drop Duppy if i get over excited, down at the White Lion I don't know whether playing that track will get me showered with empties or howered with praise so maybe watch this space.
This month we've got a strictly resisdents special with four members of the hardcore total niceness massive gracing the decks..........................................
Stealing Benergy's thunder and also his first set is non other than myself kickstarting proceedings with some more laidback beats, mayeb some prog and techy breaks, a smatterin of dubstep and possible a spot of electro if im in the mood for it.
Next up and never far from the start of things is Mr Benergy who apart from showcasing a large selection of more uplifting breakbeats and house related bizniz will be charming all and sundry allnight with his wit and easy going banter, if you see him get him a cider or something that looks pretty to drink and you'll hit it off great.
Third in the order of things and central to proceedings is non other than Gus, a Total Niceness trooper through and through whos got us out of a few scrapes in his time. Gus is going to be playing some rasping prog house, as heavy on the bass as it is on the melody. If you've caught any of his sets own at Inigo or at Lovage at the White House, then you'll know your in for a treat.
Last but by no means least we have the one and only electro avenger Dj Idle, whos going going to amaze, confuse, batter and bruise most likely with a et that will truely define bass heavy, with anything from breaks and electro, to old skool hardcore mayhem, although if he starts with the hardcore then i'm heading to the basement.

Alright intrepid listeners I'm sorry that its been a bit slakc round here of late, we've had a few changes in the total niceness empire and one of those is the end of the Total Niceness bi-weekly Tuesday mashup madness down at Inigo in Battersea, we've had some great times down there over the last two years and I've had some hangovers which are the stuff of legend and enjoyed a lot ofg treats from donna inn returning from there at 3am on a wednesday. Alas all good things must come to an end and since i am based in bristol now, it seems to much stress so we will concentrate our efforts to dominate the whole of South London with our new endevour Bass Chronicles @ the White Lion in sunny Streatham and our other more high end bash at the White House in Clapham. So i slaute all the tuesday troopers who have supported the cause down at Inigo for the last two years and made it down and i hope to see some of you in the future.

On a brighter not I have some an important announcement regarding the radio show, next two weeks are glade replayed and it should be a reet laugh with some exclusive sets from some of the cream oif the breaks world, I've got the awesome PMT and there should be some treats instore for everyone and some exclusive Glade fesival related prizes to.

Greetings People

Over the past couple of years Total Niceness @ Inigo has been slaying Wednesday mornings on a fortnightly basis for those with the Tuesday night stamina (and there do seem to be quite a lot of you nutters out there !).

Time has come for the addition of a 3rd regular night – Total Niceness : BASS CHRONICLES – happening on the 1st Saturday of every month.

The venue for this new night will be The White Lion – 232 Streatham High Road. This is the sister bar of Jamm in Brixton and has recently been refurbished (by man of many talents our very own Benergy).

Free from the reservations of a Tuesday night BASS CHRONICLES is aiming to be lowdown & dirty from the start, providing some twisted Saturday night party basslines for South London to wind to. Essentially Breaks, Electro & Dubstep will be the weapons of choice for the nights.

The first date to look out for is Saturday March 4th – DJ’s start at 9pm and finish at 4am. It’s going to be Breaks & Electro all night and this time round DJ’s will be :

Benergy
Smut Roast (Platform 12)
iDLE

Total Niceness Love Parade

We have a hot date for your diaries - next Tuesday 14th February - Forget having a romantic meal for 2 or a night of vigourous self-shuffling (if currently without partner) and get yourself down to Inigo - 642 Wandsworth Road Clapham SW8 for the a night of Total loved up Niceness.
Champagne, roses, fine wines, Belgian chocolates – poetry, the language of love – even rubber gloves in case things get messy – we’ve got it all in store for you.

Local lothario Benergy will be the first smooth operator up at the controls for the night with a welcoming mix of breaks and beats to get everyone in the mood.

Next up you have real treat in store from the hours of 1000 – 1130. Me and the Breaks Professor (AKA DJ Bladdered - AKA The Chutney Mong - AKA 'Our Kid' Gary) will be playing a NO MODERNS Love set. Expect to hear a mix of old and new breaks thrown over the top to keep people jumping while they choke down our 80's love action !

Stepping in at 1130 we have the housewives favourite - Plaza De Funk. You can expect a funk full set delivered straight from the heart by one of Italy’s finest. Peak time party music is guaranteed from this guy & no doubt the West Records thoroughbred will be serving out a good portion of exclusives to send pulses racing into the early hours.

To close the night we have another special double dosage of down right dirty Dubstep served up by Delsa and Envoy. The last time these two graced us with a back 2 back set at Inigo back in December they smashed it up big time & had the dance floor in full sway for their closing set. This time you’re in store for some more filthy bass punctuated with scratch support from myself and plenty of the freshest tracks with some of Envoy’s homegrown Guzzler Productions in the mix.

Anyway full line up is as follows :

2000 - 2200 : Benergy (The Original & Best)
2200 - 2330 : Breaks Professor & iDLE (Big GLove Set)
2330 - 0100 : Plaza de Funk (The Funked Up Italian

Wednesday, January 25, 2006

If anyone fancies getting down to kent for this then Ii strongly advise it, I am gonna try and trooper across from Bristol to make this, mainly due to the attendance of SOTEG who is making a rare UK performance and is not to be missed. Also, although its not on the poster the Funk Buddha is also making an appearance all the way from Amsterdam and as i have done a radio show before him for the last two months I can proclaim that he will providing a varied selection that will bring the bass and defienatly will not dispapoint. Also Henryo!d and Deadman Dj who I have yet to catch live but i am sure will not disapoint providing electro related action.
Hopefully on my return to Kent for following many japes there in my crazy slighty more youthful and svelte days i won't run into any old adversaries/crazy ex girl friends or any other crazy medway folk i may have upset last time i was there. Anyway the long and the short of it i that if you live in the South east of England and you like electro, breaks and bass, get down to this cos its gonna be large. A little fact for the brainiacs out there the last time I played in a Chatham in Kent was almost 4 years to the day of this event on valentines day. If anyone can tell me which club I played at they can win something really great. Email me @ delsa@retard.co.uk, that email address is not a jone btw.

Total Niceness @ Inigo 10th Of January 2006

To kick start Total Niceness for 2006 we have a little link up with the radio show and were featuring a guest mix on my show at 1 - 3pm of Paul Torch who you can then catch live at Inigo back to back with Gillotron. These two veterans have been playing with the Total Niceness since I linked up with them at their legendary Future Fusion parties in Brixton a fair few years back. The Das Miesters are well known for the varied selection oof fucky beats playing everything from electro to acid house via breaks. Also playing is Woody whos playin a varied selection of Hip Hop beats to kick back to, or bust of move too. Mr Luke Envoy will be literally kick starting the proceedings with a mixture of supposdely laid back sounds that promise to be anything but, if his last chill out set was anything to go by expect hip hop with machine gun noises and police sirens, nose bleed jungle and some grime infected dubstep it certainly will be worth getting there early for and definatly amaze and excite you in various ways and if your lucky he might sneek in some of his own guzzler productions . All in all there will be a a vast selection and some truely awesome music and its all absolutly free with some special drink promotions thrown in out o the goodness of our hearts.
The full line up is as follows:

Luke Envoy 8 - 10:00

Woody 10:00 - 11:00

Paul Torch B2B Gillotron 11:00 - 02:00*

*They are without the legend that is the breaks professor as he isnt allowed out on school nights anymore becuase he finds getting blink drunk doesn't induce good teaching practices the next day.
